Payroll outsourcing may include presenting an argument to personnel? Posted by Editorial team

Businesses thinking about saving some money by hiring payroll outsourcing companies may need to make a good case for the transition and present it to their personnel, as one expert has said this is necessary when farming out IT functions.

In an article for Financial Director, Phillip Lieberman of Lieberman Software explained that firms need to be prepared if they are thinking about getting a third party to look after their computing systems.

But his tips, which include asking for a written crisis management plan from an outsourcer, may also be useful for those hiring another business to control their payroll systems.

The specialist warned that recruiting external professionals to take over certain operations may mean a big transition for personnel that are already in the team, so employers should prepare to argue their case persuasively.

Mr Lieberman also recommended that third parties' financial statuses are checked before they are hired, as well as their history, audit record and standards of compliance.

Emyr Williams, commercial director of Bytesart.co.uk, recently suggested that payroll outsourcing could help small businesses start up successfully, as they may not have the tools needed to conduct the function themselves.
